We recently received a thank you letter from Councillor Jane Davies at Wiltshire Council, for the efforts of our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic and we wanted to share it with you.
Dear Care home manager and staff
I wanted to write to you as we near the end of this extraordinary year to say thank you to you and your staff for all the hard work you have done over 2021.
I know that the last year has created significant challenges for all who work in the care sector but for care homes the challenge has been significant as you have ensured some of Wiltshire’s most vulnerable residents are cared for during the ongoing COVID pandemic. I know many of you have sadly lost residents but your incredible efforts to protect your staff and residents has meant that we have seen fewer outbreaks in care homes and significantly reduced levels of transmissions to residents.I do not underestimate thechallenges you have faced ensuring rigorous infection prevention and control measures are in place whilst dealing with the current staffing pressures in recruitment and retention.
I am extremely grateful to you and your staff for the devotion, commitment and hard work you have shown for our residents. I am also very proud of you all for the dedication you have shown throughout,and you have not faltered in putting residents first in everything you do and this continues.
As we said last year, we know the year ahead is going to present its own challenges and that there is still a great deal of hard work ahead of us all. However, we know that here in Wiltshire we have a very strong partnershipand we would like to reassure you that we will continue to work alongside you as we face whatever challenges the next year brings.
I know it’s been incredibly hard and I sincerely hope after this very difficult and demanding year you will have some time over Christmas to have a break.
For now, thank you once again – stay safe over Christmas.
